BIOGRAPHY
Clare McCann is an award winning actress and filmmaker who first began studying drama at the age of 7 with the Australian Theatre for Young People. Clare performed music and play productions throughout her childhood also regularly winning competitions for her own produced shows. Clare's breakout role was Cherry the Cheerleader in Channel [V]'s TV series Blog Party. Clare has won numerous awards as both a theatre and screen actor, director, screenwriter, film and show producer and has worked for many internationally recognised entertainment leading companies such as Creative Directing for the The Star Casino, Marquee Sydney and as a drama, voice and movement tutor in the NIDA open program.
Clare has also worked as a vocalist, MC, dancer and choreographer internationally and with artists such as Lil' Jon, RedFoo, Will-I-Am, Paris Hilton, Above & Beyond, Justin Beiber, Seal, Kaskade, Avicii, Super Square and many more.
Clare has studied a bachelor of Dramatic Arts and Theatre Making with AADA as well as a diploma in Cinematography and Film Production with AFTRS. After university Clare began developing her award winning screenplay, Benefited, into an award winning feature film production which tackles the prevalent issue of domestic violence and the lack of safe housing support available for its victims. Benefited is currently in the film festival circuit.
